Airline logos for online travel agencies and flight search

Online travel agencies and metasearch engines show an airline logo on every flight result, filter and itinerary. The logostream Airline Logo API returns the logo for an IATA or ICAO code that comes with your search results, in variants for light cards and dark layouts. Beside it, GET /v1/routes lists the airlines that fly a route, and separate endpoints cover one-stop connections and multi-city trips.

Logos are requested with GET /airlines/iata/{iata} (logo-transparent in the rows, tail in the chips). Times, durations and fares are illustrative.

Why airline logos are hard to get right in flight search

A results page can list a dozen carriers for one route, and the logo is how people scan it. Supplier feeds usually give you a code and a name, not an image, so teams end up with a hand-built asset folder that misses new carriers, mixes sizes and backgrounds, and breaks on a rebrand. Filters, sort bars and itinerary cards then multiply the places where that logo has to look right.

How to get logos and route data for search results

Use the airline code your fare or schedule source already returns, IATA or ICAO, and request the logo in the variant that fits the surface: transparent on result cards, white on dark headers, tail or icon in tight filter lists. For the structure around the logos, ask GET /v1/routes which airlines operate a route, and use the separate connections and trip planner endpoints for one-stop and multi-city itineraries. Prices, availability and booking stay with your own supply.

How do travel agencies and metasearch show airline logos in results?

A supplier response carries an airline code, not an image. A search front end passes that IATA or ICAO code to GET /airlines/iata/{iata} or GET /airlines/icao/{icao} and picks a variant per surface: logo-transparent for result cards, logo-white for dark headers, tail or icon-transparent for filter chips.

Route structure comes from separate endpoints. GET /v1/routes lists the airlines that operate a route, needs at least one filter and is included on every plan, GET /v1/routes/connections finds 1-stop connections between two airports with both legs, and GET /v1/trips/plan covers trips of 2 to 10 stops. None of them returns fares, availability or bookings.

Logos are PNG on every plan, up to 200px on Free and 600px on Startup, with SVG on Pro and Enterprise. Free logos are requested live, while Startup allows 24-hour caching. The Free plan includes 20,000 requests per month.

Where travel agencies and metasearch show airline logos

    Flight search results

Give every result card the carrier's logo, looked up from the code in your supplier response. Mixed-carrier results stay consistent because every logo comes from one source and one request pattern.

    Airline filters

Turn the carriers in a result set into a filter bar. Logos next to counts make the list quick to scan, and the tail or icon variants keep it compact on phones. GET /v1/routes lists the airlines that fly a route, which helps when you want filter options before results arrive.

    One-stop itineraries

A connection carries two airlines. The connections endpoint finds one-stop options between two airports with both legs, their airlines, distance and duration, and counts a 90 minute layover in the total. Show a logo per leg so travellers see who flies each part.

    Fare comparison

Lay the same trip out by airline and day and mark the cheapest fare in each row. Logos in the row headers let people read the table by carrier. Fares come from your own sources; logostream supplies the airline branding and the route data.

    Which endpoints flight search uses

    • Airline logo by IATA code
      GET /airlines/iata/{iata}

The lookup behind the logos in the demo; GET /airlines/icao/{icao} works the same for three-letter codes. Variants include logo, logo-transparent, logo-white, tail and icon-transparent. PNG on every plan, SVG on Pro and Enterprise.

    • Routes
      GET /v1/routes

Routes between airports with operating airlines, distance and an estimated duration. At least one filter is required, for example departureIata and arrivalIata. Routes API, included on every plan.

    • One-stop connections
      GET /v1/routes/connections

Takes from and to (IATA airport codes) and returns 1-stop connections with both legs, their airlines, distance and duration. For plan access, see the pricing page and the docs.

    • Multi-city trip planner
      GET /v1/trips/plan

Takes 2 to 10 stops, for example stops=FRA,DXB,SIN,SYD. Returns per leg whether a direct route exists, the airlines, distance and duration, plus trip totals. For plan access, see the pricing page and the docs.

What travel agencies and metasearch get

    The code you already have

Supplier and schedule feeds carry IATA or ICAO codes. Pass either to the logo endpoint, with no mapping table in between.

    Fits cards, bars and headers

Eight static variants, including the default, cover full colour, white, transparent, on white, icon and tail, so one lookup serves result cards, filter chips and dark headers.

    Routes, connections and trips

GET /v1/routes lists the airlines on a route and is included on every plan, including Free. One-stop connections (/v1/routes/connections) and multi-city trips (/v1/trips/plan) are separate endpoints: see the pricing page and the docs for plan availability.

    1,100+ carriers

Major, regional and low-cost airlines worldwide, looked up by IATA or ICAO code, so one source covers every carrier in a mixed result set.

    Caching for busy pages

Startup allows caching logos for up to 24 hours, and Pro and Enterprise add custom caching layers. On the Free plan every logo is requested live.

    Free tier to build on

The Free plan includes 20,000 requests per month, PNG logos up to 200px, and the Airlines Data and Routes APIs. Startup, from $40 per month, raises PNG to 600px and requests to 200,000.

    Which plan fits flight search

Free covers 20,000 requests per month. Startup starts at $40 per month. Pro and Enterprise add SVG and custom caching. Prices and limits are listed openly.

When this is not the right tool for flight search

    • You need fares, availability or booking. logostream supplies airline logos and route reference data, not prices, inventory or ticketing, and it is not a GDS. Those come from your own suppliers.
    • You need timetables or real flight times. Route durations are estimates based on distance, so take departure and arrival times from your supplier.

    How we check this page

Logos and variants shown here are requested live from the Airline Logo API. Flight times, fares and CO2 figures in the demos are sample data and labelled as such. Endpoints and parameters are taken from the public OpenAPI spec.

Airline logos for travel agencies: frequently asked questions

Take the IATA or ICAO code from each result in your supplier response and request the logo with GET /airlines/iata/{iata} or GET /airlines/icao/{icao}. Use logo-transparent on white result cards and logo-white on dark headers. The variant is a single query parameter, so results from different carriers look consistent without any image editing.

icon-transparent and tail give you compact marks for filter chips, mobile lists and itinerary legs. logo-transparent suits result cards that have room for a wordmark. If space is tight, try tail or icon first and keep the full logo for the card itself.

Yes, as reference data. GET /v1/routes returns the airlines that operate routes between airports, with distance and an estimated duration, and needs at least one filter such as departureIata and arrivalIata. That endpoint is included on every plan, including Free. One-stop connections and multi-city trips are separate endpoints: GET /v1/routes/connections finds 1-stop connections between two airports with both legs and their airlines, and GET /v1/trips/plan covers trips of 2 to 10 stops. For plan availability of those two, see the pricing page and the docs.

No. logostream supplies airline logos and aviation reference data. Fares, availability and ticketing come from your own suppliers, aggregators or GDS connections, and the logo API provides the branding for each result. Route durations are estimates derived from distance, not timetables, so show departure and arrival times from your supplier.

That depends on the plan. On the Free plan logos must be requested live on each use. Startup allows caching for up to 24 hours, and Pro and Enterprise add custom caching layers. Results pages repeat the same carriers constantly, so plan the caching before you launch at volume. See the pricing page for current limits.

The Free plan includes 20,000 requests per month, airline logos as PNG up to 200px, and the Airlines Data, Cities, Routes, Countries and Stats APIs. Startup, from $40 per month, raises that to PNG up to 600px and 200,000 requests. See the pricing page for current limits.
