Airline logos for airport displays and apps

    Airports need current airline logos on flight information displays, gate screens, baggage reclaim, websites and apps. The logostream Airline Logo API returns the logo for an IATA or ICAO code (1,100+ airlines), with variants for light and dark screens, so one request replaces a folder of hand-maintained image files.

    Why airline logos go stale on airport displays

    A flight row is only as good as its logo. Airlines rebrand, merge and retire, and a display system that stores its own copies drifts out of date. Every screen type also wants a different treatment: white on dark at the belt, full colour on a bright gate.

    How one lookup replaces a folder of logo files

    Look the logo up by the code your flight feed already carries. Pick the variant per screen with a single parameter. The images come from one source, so a rebrand reaches every display without a ticket to the signage team.

    How do airports get airline logos onto displays?

    An airport display system requests each logo by airline code instead of storing image files. The flight feed already carries an IATA code such as LH or an ICAO code such as DLH, and GET /airlines/iata/{iata} or GET /airlines/icao/{icao} returns that airline's logo. The code in the feed is the only lookup value needed, so rows from different airlines mix freely on one display.

    The variant parameter sets the treatment per screen: logo-white for dark baggage reclaim screens, logo for bright gate screens, icon-transparent or tail where space is tight. PNG works on every plan, up to 200px on Free and 600px on Startup. Pro and Enterprise add SVG.

    Caching depends on the plan. Free logos are requested live on each use, Startup allows caching for up to 24 hours, and Pro and Enterprise add custom caching layers. The Free plan includes 20,000 requests per month, so a prototype display costs nothing.

    Where airports show airline logos

    Flight information displays

    Put a logo next to every departure and arrival row. The code in your feed is the only key you need, and rows can mix airlines freely.

    Gate and boarding screens

    Show the operating carrier large and clear at the gate, in the full-colour or white logo to match the screen.

    Baggage reclaim

    Belts are usually dark, high-contrast screens. The white logo variant stays legible without custom image editing.

    Airport website and app

    The same lookup powers the flight board on your site and the tracker in your app, so web, mobile and terminal screens always agree.

    Fetch a logo with one request

    Fetch a white logo for a dark baggage screen

    curl "https://airlines-api.logostream.dev/airlines/iata/LH?key=YOUR_API_KEY&variant=logo-white&format=png" -o lh-white.png

    Which endpoints this uses

    • Airline logo by IATA code
      GET /airlines/iata/{iata}

      Variants: logo, logo-white, icon-transparent, tail and more.

    • Airline logo by ICAO code
      GET /airlines/icao/{icao}

      Use when your feed carries three-letter operator codes.

    • Airport logo by ICAO code
      GET /airports/icao/{icao}

      The airport's own logo for your site header or app screen. Variants: icon, logo, logo-white. Airport Logo API, Startup and up.

    What airports get

    One lookup per row

    Your flight feed already has the code. No mapping tables, no manual asset library.

    Light and dark in one parameter

    Switch a screen between logo and logo-white without touching image files.

    SVG for large displays

    Pro and Enterprise deliver vector logos that stay sharp on any panel size.

    Animated icons

    Pro and Enterprise include animated airline icons for lively wayfinding and app screens.

    Caching you can plan around

    Startup lets you cache logos for up to 24 hours. Pro and Enterprise add custom caching layers for production signage.

    Free tier to build on

    20,000 requests per month cost nothing, so a prototype display needs no procurement step.

    Which plan fits airport displays

    Free covers 20,000 requests per month. Startup starts at $40 per month. Pro and Enterprise add SVG and custom caching. Prices and limits are listed openly.

    When this is not the right tool

    • You need live flight status or schedules. logostream supplies logos and reference data, not operational flight data.
    • You need guaranteed offline operation with zero network calls. Use a caching plan or an Enterprise setup with your own domain, and plan a local fallback.

    How we check this page

    Logos and variants shown here are requested live from the Airline Logo API. Flight times, fares and CO2 figures in the demos are sample data and labelled as such. Endpoints and parameters are taken from the public OpenAPI spec.

    Airline logos for airports: frequently asked questions

    Any carrier in the Airline Logo API, looked up by IATA or ICAO code, for example LH or DLH. One request returns the logo for a flight row, a gate screen or a baggage belt, so the display does not depend on a folder of image files someone has to keep current.

    Request the logo-white variant for dark backgrounds and the logo variant for light ones. Both come from the same endpoint with a single variant parameter, so switching a screen between day and night themes means changing one query value.

    SVG scales without blur on large or high-density displays and is part of the Pro and Enterprise plans. The Startup plan delivers PNG up to 600px, which suits small screens, apps and web boards.

    That depends on the plan. The Free plan requires live requests for every use. Startup allows logo caching for up to 24 hours. Pro and Enterprise add custom caching layers, which is what a production flight information display system usually needs.

    No. logostream delivers airline logos and aviation reference data such as routes, airports and aircraft types. Flight status and schedules must come from your own feed, and the logo API supplies the branding for each row.

    The Free plan includes 20,000 requests per month, enough to build and test a display. Paid plans start at $40 per month. Current plans are listed on the pricing page.
